Getting Here

Waiheke Island is one of the larger Hauraki Gulf islands, a 35 minute ferry trip from downtown Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city.

There are many options for getting to Waiheke Island from Auckland.

Arriving at Auckland airport

An Airport bus which leaves the terminal every 15 mins, takes approx 45 mins and drops you at the downtown ferry terminal. See www.airbus.co.nz. Or take a taxi which takes about 20 mins (allow up to 45 minutes at peak traffic times). Expect to pay upwards of $60 for a taxi.

Many private homes and Wedding Venues have helicopter pads and offer a landing service. If this is of interest we are happy to explore this option for you.

If you choose not to bring your own car and you want to spend a day sightseeing you can hire a car from $50 per day:

Buses

Buses meet every passenger ferry at Matiatia. Different routes run through Oneroa, Palm Beach, Surfdale, Rocky Bay and Onetangi.

There are private transport companies that are used to transporting large groups of people, perfect for wedding guests and bridal parties.
