Summer

January to March are the most popular months for weddings and tourists on Waiheke Island. This is high season for all accommodation and venues. We recommend you book up to 12 months in advance. Waiheke enjoys hot summer days , so shade and keeping guests well fed and watered are important considerations for wedding guests. We always recommend you have a back up wet weather plan - in 2008 and 2009 two Saturdays in February were rained out. And if you are planning a beach wedding, bear in mind you are unlikely to find an easily accessible and deserted beach – but we can recommend the best spots or times of day for you.

Autumn

April and May can be lovely times to get married on Waiheke Island as the weather is often settled and the island slows down as visitor numbers drop. Autumn colours in the many vineyards make lovely backdrops for wedding photos.

Beaches can still be an option for wedding ceremonies, although a wet weather plan becomes even more important.

Winter

Winter weddings are becoming more popular and with more availability with venues, accommodation and services providers, we can often secure better deals for you.

Winter weddings can be very romantic - ambience and warmth can be created with candles, guests will be comfortable in more formal clothing, and people often look forward to a winter break. Many venues have open fires and several vineyards offer wine cellar ceremonies.

Spring

Spring is about new beginnings - a perfect time to start your married life together. September to December means you offering your guests a break before the peak holiday season. Shoulder season rates will apply at most venues and accommodation providers and temperatures can also be more comfortable for you and your guests.
